Legal Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Dappnode website (dappnode.com and any subdomains, including the shop) and your purchase and use of our products and services. By accessing our site or purchasing/using any Dappnode product or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please refrain from using the site or services. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms from time to time as needed, and will post the updated version on our website with a new effective date. Continued use of the site or services after changes constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. Company Information

The site dappnode.com (including the online store) is operated by Nodehodlers S.L. (“Dappnode”, “we” or “us”), a company registered in Spain. Our registered address is Santos Ovejero n°1, Despacho P1-12, 24008 León, Spain. Our VAT identification number (CIF) is B24726168. You can find our contact details in the Contact section below. When you purchase a product or service from this site, you will be entering into a contract with NodeHodlers S.L.

2. The Dappnode Products and Services

Dappnode offers both hardware products and software/services to our customers:

  • Open-Source Software: Dappnode is an open-source software platform for running blockchain nodes and decentralized services. The software itself is free of charge and released under an open-source license. Users are free to download, install, and use the Dappnode software on their own hardware, in accordance with the terms of its open-source license (for example, GPL or MIT License, as applicable; details can be found in our documentation). We retain copyright over the Dappnode software code, but license it to the community under those open terms. Please note that while the software is open-source and community-driven, using it remains at the user’s discretion and risk; we do not guarantee that the open-source software is error-free or fit for any particular purpose beyond what is provided in the license (which typically disclaims warranties).
  • Hardware Devices: We sell plug-and-play hardware nodes that come with the Dappnode software pre-installed (for convenience). These hardware products (often referred to as Dappnode Home or other model names) are essentially computer devices optimized for running the Dappnode software out-of-the-box. Purchasing our hardware allows customers to avoid the technical complexity of assembling their own node; you can simply power it on and start running a node. The purchase of hardware includes the device and preloaded software (which remains open-source). Ownership of the hardware transfers to you upon delivery, but the software on it is licensed, not sold. The software on the device may update from time to time (with your consent or prompt).
  • Dappnode Premium (Subscription Service): We offer a premium service (“Dappnode Premium”) which is a subscription-based offering for individual end users. Dappnode Premium provides additional benefits on top of the open-source software, including: advanced push notifications (alerts about your node’s status delivered to your mobile/desktop app), automated node backups stored securely for you, and personalized expert support from the Dappnode team.

Dappnode Premium includes one (1) personalized technical support session per calendar quarter. Unused support sessions do not carry over to subsequent quarters and are not available during the free trial period. Sessions are exclusively available to the subscriber during the active subscription period and are subject to availability

This is provided as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription which can be purchased on a monthly or annual basis. The Premium service is optional – you do not need to buy it to use Dappnode software, but it enhances the user experience and maintenance of your node. You can subscribe to Dappnode Premium even if you did not purchase Dappnode hardware (e.g., if you installed the software on your own machine). However, you will need to register an account and have a running Dappnode instance to link to our Premium services. Details on subscription terms are in Section 5 below.

By offering these products and services, we aim to make it easy for users to run decentralized infrastructure. Please note: Certain third-party services or content may be accessible through Dappnode (for example, community packages or integrations). Those may be subject to their own terms and licenses, and Dappnode is not responsible for third-party content or software you choose to run on your node.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

To make a purchase or use our Services, you must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction (if higher). By placing an order or subscribing to Dappnode Premium, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and have full legal capacity to enter into a contract. Our site and products are intended for personal, non-commercial use by end users. If you are registering on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and in that case “you” will refer to that entity.

Account Creation: Using certain features (such as purchasing through our store or accessing Premium services) requires creating an account on our site. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Please use a strong password and limit access to your account. Notify us immediately at support@dappnode.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we suspect are being used fraudulently, unlawfully, or in violation of these Terms.

4. Placing Orders for Hardware

When you place an order for a Dappnode hardware product through our online store, you are making an offer to purchase the product under these Terms. After you submit an order and payment, we will send you an Order Confirmation email acknowledging that we received your order. This email is not an acceptance of your offer; it is just a confirmation that your order was received in our system. We reserve the right to accept or decline an order for any reason.

Once we verify availability and payment, and prepare your product for shipment, we will send you a Shipping Confirmation email (or Order Shipped notification) confirming that your order (or part of your order) has been dispatched. The purchase contract between you and Dappnode for the item(s) ordered is formed at the moment we send the Shipping Confirmation for those item(s). If your order contains multiple items and we send shipment confirmation for only some of them, the contract is formed only for those shipped items. Items that have not been confirmed as shipped are not under a finalized contract, and we may cancel those portions of the order with a refund.

We reserve the right to cancel your order, or any part of it, any time prior to shipping confirmation. This may occur, for example, if: (a) the product becomes unavailable or out of stock; (b) there was an obvious error in price or description on the website; (c) we identify a security or fraud risk; or (d) delivery to your location is not feasible or permitted (see Shipping section below for restrictions). If we cancel your order in whole or in part after you have been charged, we will issue a refund for the canceled items. You will be informed via email of any cancellation.

Order Status: You can check the status of your order by logging into your account on our site. Status will typically show as “Processing” (order received, preparing shipment) or “Shipped” (when dispatched). If you need to make any change or cancellation, please do so before the order is processed for shipping (see Cancellation section below).

5. Prices, Payment, and Taxes

- Pricing: All prices for products and subscriptions are as listed on our website. Prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) by default, and may include applicable VAT (Value Added Tax) for EU customers. If you are viewing the site from a different region, the price may be shown in an approximate local currency or without VAT where appropriate. We do our best to ensure accurate pricing, but errors may occur. If we discover a pricing error for an item you ordered, we will handle it as follows: (i) if the correct price is lower than advertised, we will charge you the lower correct price (and refund the difference if you already paid a higher amount); (ii) if the correct price is higher than advertised, we may, at our discretion, contact you for instructions before shipping to see if you want to proceed at the correct price, or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation. We are under no obligation to supply a product at an incorrect price if the pricing error was obvious and could reasonably have been recognized by you as a mistake. Prices and availability of products are subject to change at any time before we accept your order, and we reserve the right to modify or discontinue products without prior notice (but changes will not affect orders already accepted).

- Payment Methods: We strive to offer secure and convenient payment options. Accepted payment methods for hardware purchases include: credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc., processed via Stripe), PayPal, bank transfer, and cryptocurrency payments accepted by depay (supporting ETH, USDC on Ethereum). The availability of certain methods may depend on your location. For subscription payments (Dappnode Premium). Currently, we accept major credit or debit cards through Stripe, PayPal and SEPA direct debits (only in euros). Subscription payments are set to auto-renew as described below. All payments are subject to verification and acceptance by our payment processor. We use industry-standard security and encryption for payment processing, and your card details are not stored on our servers. If a subscription payment fails, up to four automatic retry attempts will be made. If all attempts are unsuccessful, the subscription will be suspended until payment is completed.

- Taxes and Duties: Our product prices may or may not include taxes, depending on your location:

    • For customers in the European Union, prices include the applicable VAT by default (unless you qualify for VAT exemption, see below). If you are an EU business with a valid VAT number, you may enter that during checkout or in your account profile to have VAT not charged (reverse-charged) on your order. The VAT number will be validated through the VIES system. If validation fails or the VAT number is not provided before payment, VAT will be applied and cannot be refunded later, per tax regulations.
    • For customers outside the EU (e.g. USA, Canada, Asia, etc.), we do not charge VAT.
    • If any other taxes apply (for example, state sales tax in the USA), we will either include them in the price or notify you at checkout. We comply with local tax regulations to the best of our ability.

- Billing for Subscription (Dappnode Premium): If you subscribe to Dappnode Premium, you agree to pay the subscription fee indicated for the plan you select. The current pricing is €12.99 per month for a monthly plan, or an equivalent of €9.99 per month billed annually (i.e., €119.88 charged once per year) for an annual plan. These prices may be adjusted by us from time to time; any price changes will be communicated to existing subscribers with advance notice and will apply to the next billing cycle. All subscription fees are charged in Euros (EUR). If your card is in a different currency, your bank will convert the charge to your currency at their exchange rate and may apply fees.

When starting a subscription, you must provide a valid payment method. By subscribing, you authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge the recurring subscription fees to your provided payment method automatically on each monthly or annual renewal date, until you cancel. For example, if you subscribe on the 1st of the month to a monthly plan, your card will be charged on the 1st of each subsequent month. If you subscribe to an annual plan on, say, July 1, 2025, your next billing date will be July 1, 2026, and so on. We will send an email receipt after each successful renewal charge. You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is up to date; if a charge is declined due to an expired card or insufficient funds, we will notify you and may suspend your Premium services until payment is resolved. We may attempt to charge again after a failed attempt, but if payment isn’t provided, we reserve the right to cancel your subscription for non-payment. You can update your payment method at any time via your account settings or by contacting support.

In case of a plan change (for example, from annual to monthly), no immediate refund will be issued. Instead, Stripe will automatically adjust your future payments according to the new plan via proration

  • Free Trial: We may offer new users a one-time free trial period for Dappnode Premium (currently 15 days). If a free trial is available, it will be clearly indicated at sign-up. To start the free trial, you will be required to provide a payment method, but you will not be charged until the trial period ends. The trial gives you full access to Premium features. Important: Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and the payment method on file will be charged the applicable fee after the 15-day trial period. For example, if you start a trial on the 1st of the month, it will run through the 15th; on the 16th day, the first charge will occur (for either the monthly or annual plan you selected at sign-up). We will send you a reminder before the trial ends (e.g., 2-3 days prior) to the email on your account. If you do not wish to continue, you must cancel during the trial period to avoid being charged. Each user is entitled to only one free trial, unless otherwise specified. Creating multiple accounts to obtain repeated free trials is a violation of these Terms and may result in termination of the accounts.
  • Cancellation of Subscription: You may cancel your Dappnode Premium subscription at any time. If you cancel during the free trial, your trial will end immediately and you will not be charged (or you may choose to let the trial run its full 15 days and still not be charged as long as you canceled in time). If you cancel an already-paid subscription (monthly or annual) after the billing has occurred, your subscription will remain active for the remainder of the period you paid for, but will not auto-renew thereafter. For example, if you paid on January 1 for a monthly plan and cancel on January 15, you will retain Premium access until January 31, but it will not renew for February; you will not receive a refund for the unused portion of January. Similarly, if you paid for a yearly plan and cancel after a few months, you keep access until the end of the 12-month term, but it will not renew for the next term. We generally do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods or early cancellation, except where required by law or at our sole discretion in special cases. The rationale is that users are given a free trial to evaluate the service, and the subscription is billed for the commitment period chosen. We will clearly inform you if any promotional refund policy applies. To cancel, you can typically go to your account settings on our site or contact our support team at support@dappnode.com for assistance. Cancellation will be effective at the end of the current billing cycle.

If you cancel your subscription, access to Premium services will continue until the end of the paid period of the subscription. We do not provide refunds for canceled subscriptions or for unused portions of the service. If changes are made to the subscription (for example, from an annual plan to a monthly plan), Stripe will automatically handle the proration of future payments

  • Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers): If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase made online (distance contract) within 14 days without giving any reason, subject to certain exceptions (cooling-off period). For physical goods (hardware), this period starts from the day after you receive the product, and for services or digital content, from the day after the contract is concluded (or from the day after service provision starts). We voluntarily extend this right to our customers globally where feasible. However, please note: Digital Services Exception – Waiver of Withdrawal: By subscribing to Dappnode Premium and accessing the service immediately (including the free trial period), you agree that the service begins before the 14-day withdrawal period ends, and you expressly acknowledge that you thereby lose the right to withdraw from the subscription after the service has begun in full. In practice, this means that once your Premium trial converts to a paid subscription and the features are fully available to you, you cannot exercise the 14-day cancellation right to get a refund for that subscription period. If we did not obtain your express consent to waive withdrawal or failed to inform you of this, then the standard 14-day withdrawal right remains available, but we would be entitled to charge you for the portion of the service used during that time. For clarity: we provide a 15-day free trial which covers and exceeds the usual 14-day cooling-off, so by the time you are charged, you have effectively had the chance to evaluate the service. Thus, no refunds will generally be given once a subscription charge has occurred, except in compliance with consumer rights laws where applicable. For hardware purchases, the right of withdrawal applies: you have 14 calendar days from the day after you receive the product to notify us if you wish to return it for a refund (see Returns section below for conditions).

6. Shipping and Delivery

  • Territory: We ship Dappnode hardware devices to most countries worldwide. However, due to certain sanctions, regulatory restrictions, or excessive logistical challenges, there are some countries to which we currently do not ship. As of now, we do not ship to the following countries: Russia, Iran, Somalia, North Korea, Belarus, China, India, Nigeria, Ukraine, and Vietnam. This list is subject to change depending on international regulations and our shipping partners’ capabilities. The exclusion is often due to past difficulties where shipments to those locations could not be completed and had to be returned, incurring losses. We hope to expand availability in the future, but we must comply with all export laws and ensure reliable delivery. If you attempt to place an order to a restricted country, our system should block it or we will inform you and cancel the order. We also reserve the right to refuse to ship to regions that are war zones or under trade embargoes at the time of order.
  • Shipping Costs: We offer free standard shipping worldwide on our hardware products, unless otherwise stated at checkout. This means we will cover the cost of shipping via our chosen standard courier (often DHL or similar) for your order. If you prefer expedited or express shipping, we may offer that option for an additional fee (which will be displayed at checkout if available). If you select express shipping at extra cost, that fee will be charged at the time of order.
  • Delivery Times: We strive to process and ship orders promptly. In-stock items are typically dispatched within 2–3 working days after order confirmation (except during peak periods or unforeseen delays). Once shipped, estimated delivery times are as follows: Spain: 1–3 working days; Europe: 1–4 working days; Rest of the world: 1–4 working days with express serviceThese estimates apply to express shipping. For the free standard shipping, times might be slightly longer for certain destinations (e.g., 7–14 days for remote international locations). Please note these are estimates, not guarantees. Actual delivery can be affected by factors such as customs clearance, local postal delays, public holidays, etc. We will provide you with a tracking number via email once your order ships. You can use this to track the shipment status. If you do not receive your order within a reasonable time beyond the estimate, please contact us so we can assist.
  • Customs Clearance: All international shipments will include an invoice and declaration of the item’s value and description. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that importing the Dappnode device is legal in their country and to obtain any necessary import permits if required (though for a consumer electronics device, usually none are needed beyond standard clearance). As noted in the Payment section, the customer is responsible for paying any import duties or taxes. The shipment may be held by your country’s customs if such fees are due. The customer must arrange payment of customs fees in a timely manner to receive the package. If a package is refused or abandoned due to unpaid duties or failure to provide required documentation, it may be returned to us or even destroyed by customs. In case of a return to sender caused by customs issues or inability to deliver due to customer fault, we will attempt to refund the product price minus any return shipping and handling costs once the item is back with us (assuming it arrives in good condition). We will make reasonable efforts to help you with customs if you encounter problems—feel free to contact support if you need assistance or information for customs. We label our shipments in a way to try to minimize issues.
  • Risk of Loss: Title to the hardware product passes to you when we hand over the product to the carrier for shipment. This means that from that point, the package is at your risk. However, we insure our shipments against loss or damage in transit. If your package is lost by the carrier or arrives damaged, please inform us and we will work to resolve it (either by sending a replacement or refunding you). It’s important you keep track of the delivered package; if tracking shows delivered but you did not receive it, notify the carrier and us immediately so we can investigate. We are not responsible for theft of packages after delivery (e.g., stolen from your doorstep), so please ensure you provide a secure delivery address.
  • Inspection on Delivery: Please inspect the package upon arrival. If you notice any damage to the box or item, photograph it and notify the carrier and us as soon as possible (within 48 hours ideally). We may need you to cooperate in filing an insurance claim. We will arrange for a return or exchange of damaged products as appropriate.

7. Returns and Refunds (Hardware Purchases)
We want you to be satisfied with your Dappnode hardware. If for any reason you change your mind or are not happy with the product, you may be eligible to return it for a refund, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Return Eligibility:
    1. You must initiate the return within 14 calendar days of receiving the product (delivery date as per the courier’s tracking). This 14-day window covers the statutory withdrawal period for EU customers and we extend it to all our direct customers.
    2. Returns initiated beyond 14 days from delivery will not be accepted. Additionally, products returned without proper packaging or protection that result in damage may be rejected
    3. The product must be returned from the same country to which we originally shipped it. (This is for customs and warranty handling reasons. If you have moved countries, please contact support to discuss options.)
    4. The item should be in its original condition, meaning it hasn’t been damaged or altered.
    5. The item should be returned in its original packaging, including all accessories, cables, manuals, and any promotional items that were included. The packaging (and the product) should be kept in good condition – please do not throw away or destroy the box if you think you might return the item.

We do not offer exchanges of items (for example, swapping to a different model or variant). If you want a different product, you should process a return for a refund and then place a new order for the desired item.

  • How to Initiate a Return: To start a return, you must contact us within the 14-day window. Send an email to support@dappnode.com with the subject line “Return Request – [Your Order Number] [Your Name]”. In the email, briefly explain the reason for the return (optional, but feedback is appreciated) and confirm that the product meets the return conditions. We will reply with return instructions and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) if applicable. We will provide the return shipping address and any necessary documents. Our return facility is currently at: NodeHodlers S.L., Carrer del Terri, 13 (MEGATRÓ), 17844 Cornellà del Terri, Girona, Spain. This may be updated so please use the address we provide in the return authorization.
  • Return Shipping: You are responsible for shipping the product back to us in a secure manner. We do not currently offer prepaid return labels (unless the return is due to a defect or our error). Please pack the item carefully, ideally using the original outer shipping box or an equivalent protective box, to ensure it is not damaged in transit. You should use a reliable courier service that offers tracking and preferably insurance. When shipping internationally for return, it’s crucial to mark the shipment as a return of goods to avoid import charges on our side. Specifically, you must inform the courier and mark on customs forms that it is a "Return to origin – warranty/return merchandise" and use DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) shipping, meaning any import fees upon returning to Spain are covered. Usually, if properly declared as a return, there should be no import VAT for us, but ensure the courier handles this. You are responsible for paying the return shipping costs and any fees charged by the courier. We recommend obtaining proof of dispatch and insurance because if the item is lost or damaged on the way back, we may not be able to refund you (you’d have to claim with the courier). If you require assistance or clarification on the return shipping, our support team will help to the best of our ability.
  • Refund Process: Once we receive your returned item at our facility, we will inspect it. Assuming the return criteria are met (item is in acceptable condition, within the timeframe, etc.), we will process your refund. The inspection includes verifying that the device is not damaged and that all components are present. We reserve the right to deduct from your refund an amount reflecting any damage or missing items (this is rarely needed, only if the value is significantly diminished). If the return is rejected (for example, the device was returned with substantial damage not due to our fault, or after 14 days), we will inform you and may ship it back to you at your cost. If everything is in order, we will issue the refund to the original payment method used for purchase. For credit card or PayPal, refund will be sent to that account; for crypto, we’ll coordinate a crypto refund if possible (minus any network fees) or another method if agreed. Please note that the refund might take a certain number of days to appear in your account depending on your bank or payment provider (typically up to 5-10 business days after we issue it). We will also email you a confirmation of refund and, if applicable, a credit note. Original shipping costs (if any were charged) are generally included in the refund, except if you chose an expedited shipping option, we might not refund that premium portion. Return shipping costs are not refunded (they are borne by you).

  • Reasons for Return Rejection: We strive to be fair, but certain returns will not be accepted. Main reasons we might reject a return and deny a refund include:
    • The return was initiated beyond 14 days from delivery (late return).
    • The product is returned without proper packaging or protection, resulting in damage (e.g., you sent it back just in the product box without an outer box and it got damaged).
    • The product or its original box is not in the same condition as when delivered – e.g., deep scratches, signs of misuse, missing components, etc. We understand you might have carefully used it during that period, but it should be in like-new condition.
    • The product has a problem due to a cause other than manufacturing defect – for instance, if you broke something by misusing it (we will distinguish between a genuine defect and user-caused damage).
    • In cases of extreme abuse of the return policy (e.g., a customer who repeatedly returns items after extensive use), we reserve the right to refuse returns, but this is evaluated case by case.

If we receive a return that cannot be accepted, we will contact you. We can either send it back to you (at your expense) or, if you do not respond, we may dispose of it after a certain time.

8. Warranty and Support

  • Legal Guarantee (Consumers in EU): If you purchase a Dappnode hardware product as a consumer (not a reseller) in the European Union, you are entitled to the legal conformity guarantee provided by EU law. This means the product must conform to the contract – it should function as advertised, be of satisfactory quality, and fit for purpose under normal use. The legal guarantee lasts for 2 years from the date of delivery of the product. If within those 2 years the hardware develops a fault or does not meet the promised specifications, and the issue is not due to misuse or external damage, you have the right to have the product repaired or replaced free of charge. If repair or replacement is unreasonably costly or impossible, or cannot be done in a reasonable time, you may then request a price reduction or a refund. During the first 12 months, any defect is presumed to have been present at delivery unless we can prove otherwise; after 12 months, we may require proof that the issue was inherent (rules vary by country). This legal guarantee applies in addition to any commercial warranty we provide and cannot be excluded. It also applies to digital content or services supplied (see below for Premium). We will honor this by repairing or exchanging faulty units that are covered by the guarantee. Please keep your order confirmation or invoice as proof of purchase/date, since you’ll need it for any warranty claims.
  • Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty: In addition to the above, we provide a limited warranty for Dappnode hardware valid for customers worldwide. We warrant that the hardware device will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the date of original purchase. If a defect arises within this period, please contact us. We will, at our discretion, either repair the product, replace it with a new or refurbished unit of equal value, or refund the purchase price. This limited warranty covers defects that arise during normal intended use. It does not cover: accidents, misuse, abuse, alteration, improper installation (if you opened and tinkered with internal hardware causing damage), exposure to extreme conditions, or use not in accordance with the product instructions. It also doesn’t cover normal wear and tear or cosmetic issues that do not affect functionality. The warranty is void if serial numbers have been removed or if the device has been opened and modified in ways not instructed by us. To make a warranty claim, you may need to provide proof of purchase and details of the issue. We may attempt troubleshooting with you first. If a return is necessary, we will provide instructions. For valid warranty claims, we will pay for the repair/replacement and shipping back to you; we may ask you to cover shipping to us (depending on circumstances and local consumer laws). This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights provided by your state or country (such as the EU 2-year legal guarantee mentioned above, which is separate). Our limited warranty does not affect those rights.
  • Software and Open-Source Disclaimer: The Dappnode software (and any third-party software packages you install on it) is provided “as is” under open-source licenses. While we strive to ensure the software is useful and reliable, we cannot guarantee that software is free of bugs or vulnerabilities. By using the software (including Premium features), you acknowledge that the open-source software comes with no explicit warranties unless stated otherwise. We are not liable for issues arising from the software itself (for instance, if a bug in an open-source component causes data loss), except where caused by our negligence in our service layer. We strongly encourage users to keep their Dappnode software updated to the latest version and follow security best practices (e.g., securing their network, backing up data).
  • Dappnode Premium Service Quality: We aim to provide Dappnode Premium services (notifications, backups, support) with reasonable skill and care. However, you understand that Premium is a digital service dependent on various factors (internet connectivity, third-party services like push notification platforms, etc.). We do not warrant that the Premium services will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times, or that every notification will always reach you instantly. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to minimize downtime and promptly fix any issues. In the event of a significant service outage or problem on our side, we may extend your subscription or compensate you appropriately, as determined on a case-by-case basis. For backup services, we employ measures to protect your data, but ultimately you are responsible for ensuring any critical data is backed up through multiple means if necessary. Our support team will provide best-effort support, but we do not guarantee a specific response or resolution time unless explicitly offered under a separate support SLA. Premium support is intended to assist with Dappnode usage issues and troubleshooting; it is not a consulting service for unrelated systems.
  • How to Get Support: For any technical issues with the product or service, you can consult our Documentation and community Forum/Discord. If you need direct assistance or want to make a warranty claim or report a problem, please reach out via our support channels (email support@dappnode.com is primary). We will do our best to help resolve your issue. For hardware issues under warranty, we may guide you through diagnostic steps and then arrange a repair or replacement. For Premium support queries, we may schedule a chat or call if needed to address more complex problems.

9. User Obligations and Acceptable Use
By using our site and services, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful information: You will provide accurate personal and payment information when placing orders or creating accounts. Impersonation or providing stolen/fraudulent details is prohibited and could lead to order cancellation or account termination.
  • Use Products as Intended: Use the Dappnode hardware and software for their intended purpose (running nodes, related activities). You agree not to use the hardware or software for any unlawful, harmful, or unauthorized purposes. Specifically, you should not use Dappnode to engage in malicious hacking, distribute malware, or violate others’ rights. Running standard blockchain nodes and dapps is fine; using the device as part of a botnet or to infringe copyright, etc., is not. You are responsible for how you use the device.
  • Compliance with Laws: You will comply with all applicable local, state, national and international laws and regulations when using Dappnode products and services. This includes any laws related to export control and sanctions — for instance, you will not attempt to export or re-export our hardware or software to any restricted country or person in violation of export laws. Our open-source software may be accessed globally, but if you are in a region where such technology is regulated, you use it at your own risk.
  • No Unauthorized Resale or Exploitation: Our products are sold directly to end-users. Purchasing Dappnode hardware for the purpose of commercial resale without authorization is not allowed (unless you are an official partner or have our consent). Also, you should not exploit our Premium service (e.g., by sharing one subscription across many users in a way not intended, or by reverse engineering or attempting to bypass paywalls).
  • Respect our Intellectual Property: The content on our website (text, graphics, logos) and our trademarks (e.g., the Dappnode name and logo) are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks without permission, nor reproduce or distribute website content (like images or documentation text) for commercial purposes without our consent. Of course, the open-source code is under its own license which permits use/modification under certain conditions – we fully adhere to those licenses and grant you those rights. But note that the “Dappnode” brand is trademarked, so while you can fork our code, you shouldn’t use our brand name for a competing product. Any use of our IP should be consistent with our guidelines and applicable law.
  • No Harmful Interference: You agree not to interfere with or disrupt the Dappnode site or servers (for example, through cyber-attacks, DDoS, spamming forms, etc.). Also, do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our systems or data. If you discover a vulnerability or bug, we appreciate responsible disclosure to us.
  • Community Conduct: If you engage on our forum, Discord, or other community channels, you must adhere to those platforms’ rules and basic standards of respect. Harassment, hate speech, or other toxic behavior can result in community bans. While this is not exactly part of these sales terms, it’s an expectation we have for our user community.
  • Feedback: If you provide us with feedback or suggestions about our products, you agree that we may use and implement that feedback without any compensation to you, and you grant us a free, perpetual license to use any ideas or concepts contained in feedback for any purpose.

If you violate any of the above obligations or any other provision of these Terms, we may take action including suspending or terminating your access to Services (including canceling Premium without refund in serious cases), refusing future orders, and/or seeking legal remedies if necessary.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, NodeHodlers S.L. (Dappnode) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the use of our website, products, or services. This includes, without limitation: damages for loss of profits or revenue; loss of data; loss of goodwill; business interruption; or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. We are also not responsible for losses that were not caused by any breach on our part.

Dappnode’s total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the products/service shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you to us for the product or service in question in the past 12 months. For example, if you bought a device for €500, our maximum liability would be €500; if you paid €120 for a year of Premium, then €120.

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, etc.). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you fully if prohibited by law. In such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by that jurisdiction.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, as far as such liability cannot be excluded by law; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any breach of obligations under applicable product liability laws; or (d) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Additionally, the above limitations do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. For instance, if our product damages your property and local law provides a remedy, these Terms do not override that. We simply highlight that, outside mandatory liabilities, our liability is capped.

Digital Service Liability: As mentioned in the warranty section, EU consumers now have certain rights regarding digital services. If our Premium service is not in conformity with the contract (e.g., not providing the features as advertised), you are entitled to have the non-conformity remedied. If it can’t be remedied in a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a proportionate reduction in price or to terminate the contract and get a refund for the remaining period. We will honor those rights accordingly.

User’s responsibility: You understand that running blockchain nodes and related infrastructure can consume resources and involve technical risks. You are responsible for securing your own environment (for example, maintaining proper firewall settings, safeguarding any cryptographic keys or funds associated with your nodes, etc.). We are not liable for any loss of cryptocurrency or digital assets that you may manage or stake through a node running on Dappnode, as we do not have custody or control over those – you do. Make sure to follow best practices and be cautious with any financial transactions.

11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NodeHodlers S.L. (and its officers, directors, employees, and agents) from and against any and all third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the products or services; (c) your violation of any law or regulation or the rights of a third party (for example, if you use Dappnode hardware to infringe someone’s intellectual property and they sue us, or if your node activities cause harm to someone and they pursue us). We reserve the right to handle our legal defense as we see fit, including choosing counsel, and you agree to cooperate reasonably in such defense.

12. Force Majeure
Dappnode shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations (such as delivering a product or providing a service) if such delay or failure is caused by an event beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters (fire, flood, earthquake), war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemics or pandemics, government actions or orders, embargoes, labor strikes, supply chain disruptions, power outages, or Internet/service provider failures. If such an event occurs, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event. We will make reasonable efforts to mitigate effects and resume performance as soon as feasible. If a force majeure event continues for an extended period (e.g., more than 60 days), either party may have the right to cancel the affected order or subscription with a refund for undelivered items or unused service period.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict of law principles. However, if you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you may also have the benefit of mandatory consumer protections under the laws of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms seeks to override those protections. In the event of any dispute or claim relating to these Terms or your use of Dappnode products/services, we encourage you to contact us first to attempt to resolve the matter amicably. You can reach our support team at support@dappnode.com or use our contact form. We will try to resolve the dispute in good faith.

If we cannot resolve a dispute, you and we agree that the courts of Spain shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction. “Non-exclusive jurisdiction” means that if you are an EU consumer, you may also choose to bring a claim in your home country’s courts under applicable law. If you are not an EU consumer, then you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Spanish courts (specifically, the courts of Barcelona or our company’s registered locale, currently León, Spain, at our discretion). Any dispute will be conducted in English or Spanish. These provisions do not limit any consumer rights to seek remedies through the courts or through other dispute resolution bodies.

Note on ODR Platform: The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was an option for resolving consumer disputes online. However, as of July 20, 2025, the EU ODR platform has been discontinued. Therefore, we cannot direct you to that platform for dispute resolution. Instead, EU consumers can refer to their local consumer dispute resolution bodies or ombudsman. A list of EU certified dispute resolution bodies is available via the European Commission’s website. While not obligatory, we will consider engaging with a recognized alternative dispute resolution (ADR) entity if you request it and it’s appropriate.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions of the Terms will remain in full force and effect.
  • No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of future enforcement of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing to be legally binding.
  • Transfer of Rights: You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations (for example, if there is a reorganization or transfer to a new entity) provided that your rights are not affected.
  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, along with any other legal notices or policies on our site (Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, etc.), constitute the entire agreement between you and Dappnode regarding your purchase and use of our products/services, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings (whether oral or written) relating to the subject matter. In case of a conflict between these Terms and any other document (like FAQs or marketing material), these Terms will govern with respect to the purchase.
